Oscar winner lyricist and renowned poet Gulzar participated in the annual candle light march in the honor of the great Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib on his 200^th birth anniversary.

“It’s an annual ritual started by Pavan Kumar Varma who has researched intensely on Ghalib. Every year on Ghalib’s birthday we Ghalib followers march with candles from the Town Hall in Delhi to Ghalib miyan’s home at Gali Qasim Jaan,” Gulzar said.

“Remembering Mirza Ghalib on his birth anniversary is the least we can do. Do you know his house had been converted into a coal depot until Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji stepped in to rescue the monument from doom. Now Ghalib’s home is a museum and a shrine which we visit every time on his birth anniversary. If it wasn’t for Ghalib, I wouldn’t be a poet,” he added

For the wonderful poet Gulzar sahaab is, we couldn’t thank Mirza Ghalib any less. Long live Urdu poetry. Long live Ghalib and Gulzar!

Abhishek Bachchan had donned a pink floral shirt with pink pants in Dostana and still managed to carry them off well. Now Abhishek is back in his metrosexual avatar for his new television game show BINGO.  He wore a bright yellow shirt and white trousers for the TV promo and for the photoshoot he donned a baby pink jacket.

“It’s a fun-filled show where the whole country will be my guest without applying any brains or answer any difficult questions. This is such a chilled out concept and something that has never been done before in India. The sheer simplicity of the idea and the fact that this show is highly interactive is what attracted me to it,” Abhishek said in a press statement.

“The idea here is that it’s a show which is to be enjoyed by relaxing. That’s why we came up with the concept of Aaram Classes… we want people to chill out and play this game. There’s no stress, no tension involved at all. So tune in to learn ‘aaram’ and get ready for Bingo,” he added!

The author of Five Point Someone, Chetan Bhagat, on whose book 3 Idiots is based is upset with the makers of 3 Idiots. Suddenly Bhagat wakes up and tells everyone that he has no clue about the film being based on Five Point Someone!

Another source  reported that Bhagat’s duplicity was surprising to the producers. “Until a week ago, he was giving interviews by the dozen about how he had seen the film and how he was happy about the same. This about face is strange,” said the source.

“Yes, it is true they haven’t given me credit for story. Possibly because there are many awards for this category, and they want to take it. I didn’t write this story to win awards. I wrote it because I wanted to change the education system. So, they can collect those awards at various functions. I am more than happy to keep my fans love. God Bless,” said Bhagat in a series of tweets.

Bhagat  mentions that he does not blame Aamir Khan who plays the lead in the 3 Idiots. “When I met him (Aamir), both of us were told that the movie is original and not the book. He was asked not to read the book – and I wasn’t shown the script. Go figure,” said the blog.

Meanwhile, Vidhu Vinod Chopra in other media reports accused Bhagat of being publicity hungry. “He (Bhagat) was promised a bonus if the film becomes a hit, and it was given to him even before the film released. You are giving fame to a man like that,” Chopra told a news channel.

Aamir Khan has kept of the conflict saying he doesn’t want to comment on the same!

Akshay Kumar has received a lot of flak for three big-budget flops this year and now the actor has decided to bounce back by declaring he’d work for free for his next two films.

After the debacles of Chandni Chowk To China, Kambakkht Ishq and Tasveer 8×10, Akshay will be shooting for Priyadarshan’s Khatta Meeta and Sirish Kunder’s Tees Maar Khan.

Confirming the news Akshay said, “By not charging my personal remuneration as an actor, I’m making sure that these films will at least romp home with no losses.”

Deepika Padukone was recently invited to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s dinner party in the honor of the Japanese  PM Yukio Hatoyama and his wife Miyuki Hatoyama. Apparently the Japanese PM was really floored by Deepika’s performance in Om Shanti Om. It was on his request to meet Deepika that PM Manmohan Singh invited her over for dinner.

Deepika who is currently shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s film Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se was ecstatic. She wore a Manish Malhotra Saree for the occasion and was quoted saying,

“It is a privilege and honour for me to be invited for this dinner. I am excited and nervous at the same time.”

Indeed a privilege!

Priyanka Chopra shaked a leg at the Lux Sab Se Favorite Koun Awards. She looks a sizzler!
