The gossip mill over worked discussing the Aishwarya-Sonam cold war on the Cannes issue. So here’s your chance to know it straight from Sonam’s mouth on the Cannes fiasco.

A source present during the shoot reveals, “Koel got straight to the chase and asked Sonam what she felt about the Cannes disaster. Sonam initially hesitated, then came the all- telling response: “I don’t want to remember it as it is not a pleasant thing to recall.”

When Koel asked her if she was disappointed about not making it to the festival, Sonam said that she looked at the visit as a part of her “professional obligation.” When Koel labelled her ‘diplomatic’, the Saawariya girl laughed, “But I am always diplomatic, I have never been not diplomatic.”

Purie then asked the the Masakalli star to comment on her comment on being the young face of the cosmetic brand. “To this, Sonam exuberantly replied, “I say it as I see it!” and left it there. There was sarcasm in her tone, which indirectly hinted that Ash indeed had taken a back seat in the brand game, making way for the younger actress.”

Sonam was at her candid best throughout the interview. So much that a source reports, “It’s one of Sonam’s most open interviews. The only time you see her get tense is when she’s questioned about Ash and the Cannes drama.”

Superstar Aamir Khan’s debut film Raakh is up for re-release and there could be no better time than this when the new movies are not being able to make it to the screens. The old films are coming out of the closet and being re-released helping multiplexes and cinema halls making up for the loss.

However, Aamir Khan is not happy with the re-release of his two-decade old film Raakh. He says, “Raakh is my second film and was released in 1990. Currently the person holding the rights is being opportunistic and is trying to make a quick buck by releasing the film during the strike. Also, the multiplexes might buy into the film in order to try and score a point over me and the unity of the producers. I therefore request my fans to stay away from all my films if they are released in any National Multiplex Chain during this period of struggle.”

Anvita Thapliyal, speaking on behalf of the production house that’s re-releasing Raakh, says that by doing so, they want to revive Indian cinema. “It’s a great film that deserves another chance,” she says, adding that they have plans of reviving other films as well. As for which theatres they would release the film in case the strike doesn’t end, she says, “It’s not yet decided if we will release it in single screen theatres or multiplexes. We will do whatever is best for the film but the film has a lot of potential for single screen theatres, specially in the interiors, where they might not have multiplexes.”

Well… we’re sorry Aamir but it would be really hard for us to keep away from watching the screen debut of who is today India’s best actor.

Amisha Patel gave an exclusive interview in which she answered questions about her previous relationships and her new found love and would-be-hubby-Kanav Puri.

Some friends have let you down. Do you regret any relationships now?
“None at all. I know there are some mistakes I’ve made in some decisions. But it’s okay. I’ve learned from every one of them. And as far as my relationships and friendships are concerned, I haven’t regretted a day of anything.”

Don’t look now, but Ameesha is changing — from cutie-next-door to hot new sizzler! So why not do a hot-hot, full-fledged role, rather than just an item song (Lazy Lamhe)?
“I guess I was testing the waters. I played a dumb bimbette, whose only interest in life is to be fashionable. It was a brand new avatar I had to present. Remember, I was this demure Gadar girl that you take home to your parents. A sweet, salwar kameez-wearing girl. And my audiences liked me like that. I had to change to see whether I fitted in and whether I’d be accepted as a hottie. I was scared to completely take on a full fledged hot role. Today I’m confident to take on any sizzling avatar.”

How did you find true love with Kanav?
“Kanav is from London. He’s a hotelier and shuttles between Delhi and London. On one of his business trips, I met him through a common friend. We had coffee over casual conversation. Then about seven-eight months later, we bumped into each other again when I went into Delhi, and we just clicked. We exchanged telephone numbers and that was it. We realised there was a hell of a lot of chemistry happening here and we’ve never looked back.”

Who was more intense and which of the two, more romantic?
“There is a huge amount of intensity between us. In every which way. I mean, physically, emotionally, personally. Surprisingly, for a guy, he’s actually very romantic and very caring and realises little-little things, and does the little things that make all the difference. That doesn’t just mean taking me on great holidays or giving me great gifts. All that is, actually, easier to do. It’s the little things that matter, that you have the depth to understand and give to that person.”

So marriage is definitely on the cards?
“Aah yes! Eventually marriage is on the cards.”

Ghazal singer Chitra Singh’s 49-yr-old daughter Monica Chaudhary committed suicide in her apartment in Bandra on Friday. Monica was Chitra’s daughter from her first marriage.

It is reported that Chitra had been staying with her daughter for the last one month. Apparently Chitra and Monica chatted late into the night on Thursday night after which both mom and daughter retired to their respective rooms. On Friday morning, Monica didn’t emerge from her room until late morning and when she didn’t respond to repeated knocking, her elder son Armaan entered through a bathroom window only to find his mother hanging from the ceiling fan. There was no suicide note was found.

Sources report, “Monica was first married to Jahangir Chaudhury and had two sons — Armaan and Umer. The couple divorced in 2005, after which Monica remarried a British national called Mark Atkins. Even that relationship turned ugly and Monica filed a complaint of harassment and assault against the British national at Bandra police station. They separated a year-and-a-half ago.”

Really tragic for Chitra Singh, who had lost her son Vivek in a car accident long ago and now has lost her daughter.

Slumdog kids can finally afford to smile!

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Friday announced Azhar and Rubina Ali will get permanent homes, which would be allotted from the CM’s discretionary quota.

The celebrity kids can now choose flats in the Malvani area of Malad suburb in northwest Mumbai. This gesture from the government comes when the school’s reopen after the summer.

As per the statement, the flats costing around Rs 4, 00,000, shall be borne by the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC).

Soon after the film bagged Oscars in several categories earlier this year, MRCC chief Kripa Shankar Singh had first requested Chavan to allot flats to the two children, who live in Garib Nawaz Nagar slums of Bandra East.

Guess what’s common between dusky beauty Bipasha Basu and Sudipto Chattopadhyay – the director of her upcoming flick “Pankh”.

Well! Firstly, both hail from Bengal. But they also share a special bonding.

They often shared Bengali delicacies on the set.

“Both used to converse in Bengali on the sets. They shared a very good friendship… Sudipto even brought Bengali food for Bipasha from home. Both used to enjoy the food,” the film’s publicist said.

In “Pankh”, Bipasha plays the alter ego of a cross-dressed boy who fantasizes about her.

South Indian actor Madhavan’s roll coaster continues after the success of his thriller “13 B”.

Backing on the film’s success, Madhavan has a busy itinerary with major projects.

He is riding high after working with his idol Amitabh Bachchan in “Teen Patti” and with Aamir Khan in “Three Idiots”.

“With legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Sir Ben Kingsley (in ‘Teen Patti’), it can’t get bigger and better. I am so eagerly looking forward to the release of both ‘Three Idiots’ and ‘Teen Patti’,” Madhavan said.

With both these films scheduled for year end release, Madhavan has signed two more films – Anand Raj’s “Tanu Weds Manu” and “Manorama Six Feet Under” fame Navdeep Singh’s untitled project.

Perhaps, Siddharth, his fellow South Indian actor would also been in the same leagues, had he accepted few Bollywood films. But he reportedly rejected them due to low remuneration.

Come this Diwali – you would grace Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Kajraare.’

Directed by actress Pooja Bhatt, the flick is a T-Series’ production starring Himesh, Pakistani actress Mona Laizza apart from Amrita Singh and Gulshan Grover.

Kajraare, which is a modern remake of Pooja Bhatt-Sanjay Dutt starrer ‘Sadak,’ would be released on October 16th and might clash with other biggies like ‘Kites’ and ‘All The Best.’

Is that a good idea to screen Kajraare against big flicks? How good a thought is that?
