Slumdog kids lack vitamin M!

And M stands for money!

It is a known fact that the Mumbai corporation authorities have demolished the simple homes of the actors of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. The reason they gave was that the slums were unauthorized!

slumdog
Guess who savored them again?

It’s Danny Boyle.

The director of the multi academy award winning film had opened a fund raising aid ‘Jai Ho’ for the kids in the city. He also promised child artist Azhar, who’s living in a makeshift home, a new house before monsoons. Rubina would also be re-housed.

He expresses pity that the Bollywood and the media who hailed the kids sometime back, have ceased to comment about the children during their troubled times.
The director-producer duo has jointly opened the fund, which will help them till they attain the age of 18.

What’s even good to see is Resul Pookutty – The academy award winner for the best sound mixing has also come to the aid of the homeless children.

We certainly think Bollywood didn’t do enough to the Slumdog Kids.

What do you think?

All my personal stuff is still lying around Salman’s house: Katrina

Earlier, news was ticking that Salman is throwing away Katrina’s stuff from his house, upon learning the latter’s new love interest – John Abraham (his old foe).

However the news turned out to be a gossip.

John and Katrina came together for the film ‘New York.’

While John clarifies the SMS’s were work related only, Katrina describes that their friendship was not that kind of friendship.

“I’ve no idea where this story started from,” says Katrina.

“But Salman was very angry and he was ready to clear the air with the people who started it, but they didn’t come on the line. So, obviously, someone’s up to mischief,” adjoins Katrina.

On her relationship with John, Kat said, “John was a sweetheart; we enjoyed each other’s company. There are some friendships that are carried on even after the film is completed. But, John and I never became that kind of friends. The SMS’s were old ones, not new. All this is rubbish.”

About Salman’s anger and throwing out her stuff, Kat replies, “What stuff of mine has Salman thrown away. “I haven’t given him any gifts till date. And, all my other personal stuff is still lying around in his house, intact. Most importantly, my photographs are still hanging on the walls,” says Katrina candidly.

Now then! Did Katrina really broke-up with Salman?

Her interview looks like she’s still in hot pursuit of him!

saif_kareena_shahid_7_550x422
Recently to a leading newspaper, Kareena opens the cover talking about her marriage, Saif and of-course not to mention Shahid.

Asked about Shahid, Bebo says, “Shahid is a wonderful man and fully respects her past.”

When asked her whether she’s uncomfortable on matters related to Shahid, she replied, “Not at all. And, that’s because I respect my past. Both Saif and I respect my past. Shahid is a wonderful human being and it’s extremely sad that things couldn’t work out. I don’t think that there’s anything much to say, but the fact is that I’ve been left with some wonderful memories. I’ll cherish them forever.”

On her marriage, “It would be just formality and no such plan for next two years and wants to have to tag – Chhoti Begum.

About plans of sporting tattoos on her body, “Saif doesn’t like women with tattoos. He feels that a woman is too pristine and pure to mark herself that way. I believe in the same thing. And, I think, he knows how much I love him.”

Well! We think nothing can separate this couple!

SRK and Vidhu Vinod Chopra patch-up

Perhaps you can ascribe the successful patch-up to producers-multiplex owners tiff.

The tiff between producers-distributors and multiplex owners lead to several patch ups, at least on-screen.

Firstly, it was SRK and Aamir Khan when they jointly addressed a press conference on the current state. And now it is SRK and Vidhu Vinod Chopr.

srkvinod_200
Reports say that the duo resolved their differences during a meeting held at a Bandra five-star hotel recently.

A source said, “SRK and Vidhu were talking cordially with each other during the meeting. Even while waiting for their cars after the meeting ended, the two were seen chatting at length. All seemed to be well between them and they definitely looked like good friends.

The cold war between the actor and filmmaker started when Vidhu’s ‘Eklavya’ was nominated as India’s official entry to the Oscars. Vidhu as an explanation to the entry said, if the SRK starrer ‘Paheli’ could be India’s official entry to the Oscars previously, then why not Eklavya.

Ahh! Wonder how many patch-ups are still in store!

Typical Hrithik Roshan

It’s been quite sometime since we’ve seen a true Hrithik!

Certainly not anymore. Because he himself is a character. And Hrithik has something more to say on his latest Reliance Mobile.

hr
The ad script was so true to him that he came to the shot, improvised on his own reactions that best mirrored reality.

The actor is the new face of this Reliance Network – Never leave anything unsaid or undone… “Just pick up the phone, don’t wait… go for it!” is Hrithik’s powerful and heartfelt message in a new commercial.

Hrithik said “When was the last time you felt like making that one call just to say a Hi, or a Thank-you, or Sorry? But you held back? The more you thought about whether to act or not, the more you hesitated, and then the moment was gone. This is my chance to tell the world to leave behind hesitations. To make that call. To connect. To go for it.”

Yea… true Hrithik!

Varma gets Candid

No stranger to controversies, but let’s not deny the reality. Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is a prolific filmmaker.

His latest disaster was remake of ‘Sholay’ was heavily criticized. But he returns this year with two new different films – ‘Agyaat’- a horror film, and ‘Rann’, a comment on the media.

rgv
Varma is currently facing the heat for putting out his own version of the National Anthem as a promotional video for Rann. But he insists this is no gimmick.

Recently, in an interview to a leading television channel, RGV was fielding few questions. Here’s what he had to say to some of the questions.

When asked why he would fool himself with the National Anthem to promote your film, he says, “I fundamentally disagree with the word fooling around. Now what does the word ‘fooling around’ mean? If I ridicule the anthem or try to demean it or show it in a bad light or make a joke out of it, then you can use the word fooling around.”

“The whole point in Tagore’s National Anthem is this is how the country should be and what it should represent. And the media and the politicians also exactly know what the country is going through. So I thought it would be interesting to basically use the National Anthem as a platform to draw attention to the state of our country.”

To another question on whether we can see a typical, gutsy and original RGC with Rann, “Somebody made a very interesting comment. He said I am waiting for the day when David Dhawan will make a serious film and Ram Gopal Varma will make a film seriously. (laughs) I think I made Rann very seriously. I don’t think I have ever been this serious. But it is not to say that I have done enough of fooling around and it is time to pull up my socks. It is not that. I think the very subject matter itself demands that.

“I think eventually any film is as serious as the content it deals with. Like in Aag, the very idea of a remake of Sholay is frivolous. So the film will be as bad or as good as the idea at the end of the day. Satya was a serious film because it dealt with the dark side of the underworld. So you can’t make a Satya even if you want to frivolously, “ads Varma.

Hmm… isn’t he a cool and composed customer?

What?

He was jittery at the start of the recently concluded concert show in Ahmedabad. But Kareena assured him all would go smooth.

‘I couldn’t have been more thankful to her that particular evening when I had to step up on stage in front of a capacity 25,000-strong crowd. I was extremely nervous and was wondering whether I would be able to crack the show till Kareena gave me a helping hand,’ Jackky.

He says that his childhood friend Kareena supported him a lot all through

‘It was especially sweet of her when she held my hand after the show and introduced me to the public. I will cherish that moment forever because Kareena has been a great friend during my growing up years. However, now it was a superstar actress bringing a newcomer in front of the audience. It couldn’t have been bigger,’ said Jackky, who admits that during the last three years he wasn’t really in touch with Kareena.
