Aishwarya Rai sashayed down the ramp to showcase Longines new collection of watches.

Amitabh Bachchan with wife Jaya Bachchan along with son and daughter in law Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai paid tribute to his father, the great poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan on the account of his 102 birth anniversary.

A source reported, “The Bachchan parivaar and Bharitya Vidya Bhavan collaborated to launch the book Madhusala – The House of Wine.Madhusala has poems by Harivansh Rai Bachchan and also paintings by Namrita Bachchan.”

Apparently, all the Bachchans recited poems of Harivansh on the occasion.

Shahrukh Khan in an emotional speech at “A Nation In Solidarity Against Terror”, a public event organized on the first anniversary of the tragic 26/11 attacks said, “There is no religion of terrorism.. Indian civilization does not distinguish in terms of religion. We are an impossible achievement in the world and I’m very proud to be an Indian,” he added, speaking at public event held at the sprawling lawns of the India Gate to show the nation’s solidarity against terrorism.

“No one can have two viewpoints about terrorism. There is no religion of terrorism. I am often asked my viewpoint on this, maybe because I am a Muslim and I am very proud to be a Muslim,” said Shah Rukh.

“But I have read the Quran, listened to the Gita, acted in Ram Leela… and learnt Christianity besides being a Muslim… My friends and I have worked on a film on Buddha (’Asoka’) and my wife is a Punjabi,” the super star stressed.

“Terror has no religion. Our solidarity, courage and resoluteness are the answer to the threat of terror”, it was hosted by actress-activist Nandita Das and directed by one-film old Feroz Abbas Khan.

Shah Rukh joined a number of celebrities, eminent personalities from the worlds of arts and literature, and political leaders and school children to mark “A Nation in Solidarity against Terror” event organised under the aegis of the ministry of home affairs (MHA)

Eesha Koppikar looked resplendent in a shimmering pink lehenga designed by Neeta Lulla with intricate zardozi and kundan work while she accessorized her look with an elaborate diamond necklace. Timmy looked debonair in a black jodhpuri suit.

Eesha Koppikar tied knot with restaurateur Timmy Narang at a temple in Mumbai and the ceremony that was attended by close family and friends. The wedding took place in traditional Maharashtrian style and the couple hosted a grand reception in the evening for everyone else.

Shenaz Treasurywala who turned into an actress from VJ is really looking forward to her forthcoming film with Himesh Reshammiya because it’s a good role that doesn’t require her to wear bikinis or do item numbers.

“I did reject quite a few offers that required me to wear a bikini and do item numbers. That is not where I want to go with my career. Also, there are lots of bikini and item girls out there. They are fabulous at what they do; I don’t judge them at all. But then I don’t want to join them or compete with them,” Shenaz told IANS.

“I’ll do what the role requires me to do. I am professional. As long as it’s required and the film really needs it. It should not be there just to sell tickets but to tell a story. I am talented, I have a personality and this is my strength,” the actress said.

“You get into exposing if all you have is a sexy body ; or may be if you are a magnificent dancer and being an item girl is your career goal. It’s just not my thing or my talent,” she said.

“I am a good actor and I am a brilliant host. I write well too. I want to concentrate on these three interests and talents,” she added.

I wonder if there are any takers for that Shenaz!

Newly married Shilpa Shetty and hubby Raj Kundra are at Bahamas for their honeymoon and Shilpa is more than happy to be done with the wedding festivities.

“Thank God, I plan to get married only once! This has been the most exhausting week of my life. And also the happiest. I’ve waited so long for my wedding. Outwardly, the only thing that’s different is the choodas, and the way I’m dressed. Inside me, everything feels the same. I’ve known Raj for so long that it feels no different otherwise,” said a candid Shilpa.

Talking about her big fat and grand wedding, “I have a severe jaw ache from all the smiling at the reception. Now I know why my colleagues avoid wedding receptions! It really does get impossible to manage the entire crowd,” she adds. Apparently, there were more gatecrashers at the reception than guests. “At the wedding too, there were people climbing trees and walls to take photographs.”

“But it was a far more intimate, private and controlled affair than the reception. Shamita kept saying that she felt she was part of a Punjabi wedding sequence from a movie!”

Talk about starting a family and Shilpa blushes, “Oh yes! I certainly want to be a mother. I can’t wait to start our family.”

Ask her where will be her love nest and she says, “I have to get acquainted with Raj’s circle of friends in London, get used to socializing with them Yes, we’ll have two homes now. In any case, I was always travelling to and fro. Now I’ll be doing this even more! I have my film-production company in Mumbai. So I can’t be in London only,” quipped the actress.

Actress Eesha Koppikar is tying a knot with businessman Timmy Narang. After engagment, the sangeeth ceremony has taken place, the wedding was scheduled to be today!

The resplendent Manglorean bride Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra walked hand in hand with her husband Raj Kundra and family to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirupati. She looked gorgeous in a pink silk saree, reminiscent of Aishwarya’s red saree she wore to Tirupati after her wedding.

Salman’s another blockbuster Veer is yet to hit the screens and Sallu miyan hosted a special screening of the film for his father to see how he would react to the film he has most expectations with.

Salman was surprised that father Salim Khan walked out of the screening without saying a word to Salman. Salman was worried that his dad did not like the film but Salim Khan surprised his son when he called him at 2am to tell him that the film and especially Salman’s performance was outstanding!

According to a source, “The actor then got nostalgic about the way his father had reacted to his debut, ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’. Even then, Salim saab had walked out of the screening wordlessly and gone home and told Sallu that he would get cult status with the film and the only one who could mess it up would be him.Remembering his father’s advice is essential at this point as Salman is counting on Veer to be a hit and can’t afford to make any mistakes.”
