Sushmita Sen was awarded the  Gr8 special mention award for supporting a girl child. She also invited her mother on stage and asked her to share the trophy as she was the real woman of substance.

Sushmita said, “My family had always taught me to revere the female energy — she is called Shakti and has the power to create and nurture. My mother is my Shakti.”

Sushmita Sen has adopted two girls and has been raising them as a mother for a lot of years.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won the GR8 Women Achievers Scroll of honour for her social service and global recognition as a celebrity actress from India.

1994 Miss World Aishwarya attended the award show with her mother Vrinda Rai and invited her on to the stage thanking her for being the inspiration and that she is the true superwoman and her inspiration to excel in everything she does.

She said, “I am not a raging feminist but a humanist, that is the way I have been raised. People like us whenever we get an opportunity we do our bit for women empowerment.”

Konkona Sen Sharma flew down from Hyderabad to  Mumbai especially to attend the 55th Idea Filmfare Awards. Talking about the Filmfare awards she said,

“I think one should take the awards with a pinch of salt. I don’t have any expectations, am just here to cheer up for my friends in the industry.”

Konkona looked laid back and casual with a black kurta and blue jeans. A bit too casual for a glitzy party like that? Agree?

Asin didnt really impress with her all black look. She looks pretty with her hair and makeup, but the dress is thumbs down on cut and fit.

Asin got nostalgic at the red carpet on her relationship with Filmfare, “Filmfare is very special for me as it was my first ever award for a Telugu film.”
