Shahrukh Khan, whose latest film My Name is Khan has raked gold at box office in India and abroad, was bestowed with the title of NDTV Cinema Icon of the Year at the New Delhi Television Group awards.

India’s finance minister Mr. P. Chidambaram expressed his support for Khan saying, “I would love to watch SRK-starrer My Name is Khan…I am waiting for the English subtitles…It was great the way Khan brought out Mumbai’s solidarity…The attack on the movie (by Shiv Sena) was not an attack on the film, it was an attack on the idea of India.”

Looks like ladyluck is being very generous on our gorgeous Katrina. She has become very choosy about her films. Gone are those days when Kats signed films opposite big heroes without bothering about her role. Today, Katrina has become very cautious and careful about her roles too. She is signing films, only if her role in it is substantial enough.

Sources say that Katrina has turned down a number of offers. She opted out of Sanjay Gadhvi’s “7 Days In Paris”, refused to star in Anees Bazmee’s “Thank You” opposite Akshay Kumar despite agreeing to be part of it initially. As for the remake of “The Italian Job”, she has declined this offer too.

Lets see what the choosy girl finally takes up.

Deepika Padukone who worked with the biggest names in the industry after a famous debut with Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and now Farhan Akhtar, she has all eyes on Salman Khan.

Although Deepika has her kitty full with lucrative offers – she has KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE, BREAK KE BAAD and YRF’s untitled film lined up with Abhishek Bachchan, Imran Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh, but she is keenly looking forward to working with Salman Khan.

‘Yes, I am really looking forward to working with Salman’, smiles Deepika who is happy mixing genres while working with top banners and actors, ‘In fact we were supposed to be paired up much earlier but then a couple of films didn’t quite work out. That’s sad but I am sure that in near future, we would be paired opposite each other.’

Salman and Deepika would look good together… if only someone gifts Salman a pair of high-heeled shoes!

Katrina Kaif seems to be happy as filmmakers have started taking her seriously as an actor. She bagged a plum role in Zoya Akhtar’s next film starring Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Hrithik Roshan.

In a yet untitled film, Zoya Akhtar has cast gorgeous Katrina opposite Hrithik Roshan for the first time ever. Sources reveal that although Katrina has a small role in a film starring 3 heroes, she’s got an interesting part to play.

Farhan confirms the same, speaking guardedly about the subject, “Hrithik is the only actor in the film who gets to romance his love interest. Abhay and I have no love interest in the film.

Farhan also added that the bonding between the three characters played by Farhan, Hrithik and Abhay form the crux of the film.

The film’s shooting begins in April. Seems interesting!

Despite rumors being afloat about Kareena Kapoor having a secret wedding with beau Saif Ali Khan, Kareena kapoor says she is not one of those who does things ’secretly’.

“Catch me doing anything secretly!,” snorts Kareena in a tabloid chat. “When I’ve been open about my relationship, why will I go in for a hush hush wedding? I’m the last unmarried Kapoor girl and I want to have a grand wedding! Marriage will happen, though I don’t know when. We are very happy.

Zarine Khan’s career took off in a great way with a smashing debut with Salman Khan but Zarine Khan doesn’t have any plum offers in her kitty yet. As of now she is busy attending fashion shows, inaugural events and other public appearances. But despite a hectic schedule, the sweet girl that Zarine is, ensures that her support staff is doing fine.

A close source to the actress reveals, “Though Zarine Khan is a star now, success hasn’t gone to her head.he is still very grounded and considerate of her spot boy, make up person, driver and those people she interacts with on a day-to-day basis. In fact she insists on them having dinner with them and only then does she allow them to leave.”

Shahrukh Khan is a proud papa as both his kids won the Maharashtra Taekwondoh competition and brought home gold medals each.

SRK who attended the event, tweeted about his kids wins and wrote, “yippee.both the son & daughter won gold medals at tae kwon doh championships.suhana was all grit. aryan all technique. i was a nervous wreck”

SRK also added, “love gold especially when the kids earn it.”
